Challenge
Buying from an online store has never been easier, but users are tired of the complex and unintuitive navigation systems in traditional online stores. This project aims to povide a sleek and dynamic experience using a modern and clean design that promotes online shopping without complication.

Overview
Botanical Hallows is an online-only shop that offers you a chance to discover and purchase unusual varieties of herbs and many other types of plants grown by local farmers. We celebrate the importance of plants in a sustainable world.

ROLE

User Asks
-Access the inventory without having to register for an account first.
-Ability to save favorites that I cannot purchase right away.
-Ability to place multiple items in a shopping cart in order to purchase more than one item at a time.
-Provide a variety of payment options, so the user can choose the payment method that suits them best.
-Provide recommendations of products users wouldn't have otherwise found on their own.
-Access to advanced filtering options to browse more efficiently.
-Access to order history as a returning customer to view previous purchases and search history.
-Access to reviews and the ability to rate products so users can better judge products and find what is best for them.

User Flow
This user flow organizationally depicts the key tasks that are priority:
-Search for plants with or without creating an account using search filtering.
-Ability to search for and save products as favorites (even scan them).
-Ability to see order history and re-order simply.

Low-fidelity and then resulting mid-fidelity wireframes were a result of the prototype testing. This allowed a better understanding of how users expected to complete the tasks focused on. Small details such as actionable and consistent iconography, and consistent paths to get back, became important elements of the design system.

Visually articulating all potential aspects of the Botanical Hallows brand meant defining a baseline design system that identified key elements of its visual vocabulary. The visual design always refers back to its core mission: Empowering wellness through sustainably sourced plants and botanicals. Predominantly green palettes provide users with a sense of calm. The simple button states and clear iconography help make tasks feel more manageable. The simple linear illustrations provide a light airy feeling which helps the user feel as if they are in the presence of plants.

How Usability Might Be Improved

-More advanced filtering functions to fine-tune product options (like plant species, medicinal properties, etc.)
-Prompts to encourage providing
data that would improve functionality (e.g., “Please rate the 5 plants you purchased last month.”)
-Algorithms that are specific to one’s order history which can recommend other products.
